My wife, for years, has been telling me to start a blog. I, for years, have been avoiding it. A blog is a lot of work. I admittedly have a lot of responsibilities already.
Maintaining a blog is a lot of work, yes I just said that. Posting. Engaging. Actually being able to write and discuss my opinions and tell stories, without sounding like someone on the high horse. By the way, my high Horse has a name, it’s Terrence. If you ever hear me refer to Terrence, I’m on the high horse.
Blogs are a lot of work.
But, I gave in. I decided to do it. So this is it. This is my new blog, PoundsignDad. I decided to go old school for this. Like, some of the kids won’t get it, that before hashtag, Pound sign was the preceding name.
I came up with the name after I was looking for a name that I could identify with. I was sitting at my computer, and said HashtagDad, and discovered it was already taken. I was yelling out names to my wife, and as a joke, I said Poundsigndad. I was laughing, but she wasn’t.
She loved it.
So, it stuck.
I am going to post frequently. On a range of topics. Food. Movies. Family.
Friendships. Stuff I build. (I built this gate for a client recently)
Life. Death. Crazy stories. Sports. Advice. My lovable, always taking ridiculous photos, kids.
Humor. Hell anything I can think of really.
Things I won’t talk about: politics, cause I’m tired of them. But I’m sure I will at some point. Warning: Tim, father In law, skip this next sentence. [Sex, because all you need to know is that we do it quite frequently here. We are still newlyweds, and even if we weren’t, it would still be as frequent.]
Some upcoming topics:
- Dad genes, not to be confused with Dad Jeans. It’s genes.
- My death row meal list. This is elaborate.
- Why I love Captain America
- the story about how I had to identify a body once.
- Graduation Eyes.
- My archenemy, Todd the dad.
- Stuff I build
I have a list of ideas, things, and topics to discuss and hopefully sustain a blog. I just hope that I can intrigue you the reader and make you want to come back and read my writing, or want to share it, or want to leave a comment, or ask a question, or make you think about a topic.
The site I’m building, is still a work in progress. But in the next few weeks, I hope to add tabs for recipes, plans for stuff I build, contact, and a list of the blogs I post.
For today, I think that’s it. I gotta sand and paint a coffee table, and give someone some feedback on a script, pick up the kids, make dinner, and take care of a toddler.
Have a great day everyone!
